People, Manners and HORRIBLE Parenting

I am not sure what it is that N and I are attracting lately, but we can't seem to attract the "right" kind of people around us lately.

For example... Sunday night we decided that we were going to go see Transformers 3. I was pretty damn excited about this movie because not only do I love Shia Lebouf, but I also LOVE Camero's. (Bumble bee is amazing... I want one so bad!).

Anyway, we are sitting back enjoying the previews when this woman walks in with about 3 other people (they look like teens) and she is holding the hand of a toddler (I'd say he was about 3 1/2--ish). While they're walking up the little stairs the boy is just getting over some crying and says to his mom "Mom, I hate you!". It was just loud enough for everyone in the theater to hear, and start to chuckle. I have to admit... I was among the laugher's.  So, as the previews ended and the movie began the kid was good. About halfway through the movie the kid was on the stairs jumping as hard as he could all the way down to the bottom. Then would run back up to the top and start all over again, shaking each row that he landed on. It was annoying. Then the mom decided to move down to the handicapped seating on the lowest level before you go down the stairs toward the movie screen.

That's when the real fun began. The little boy would run from the entrance of the movie theater to where is mother was sitting, up the stairs then jump his way back down, and finally he would swing and climb through all of the rails.
IT WAS THE MOST ANNOYING THING I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH WHILE TRYING TO WATCH A MOVIE!!!!!

So about 10 minutes of me sitting there (almost saying something to the ignorant woman who thought the movie theater was a jungle gym), I left and told the manager. The woman was asked to leave, made a stink about leaving and was gone for the rest of the movie.

Now when I thought that was all over and I was going to enjoy Shia screaming at people, rescuing that GORGEOUS girl, and watching cars turn into Autobots. Little did I know that this little Hispanic girl sitting next to N was going to start doing what the toddler had just got done doing. It was a royal pain in my tush! The parents of this little girl, didn't seem to care... (which was the most difficult part of this whole situation)They also had two little boys sitting on the row behind us/them, and they wouldn't stop talking throughout the entire movie. I was too busy focusing on the toddler to have noticed these boys.

WHERE ARE THE GOOD PARENTING SKILLS???

After the movie, I went to the bathroom and N spoke with the manager again, apologizing for having complained--we're both easy going. The manager then turned around and gave us 2 free movie passes... AWESOME right?! I'm happy! He also said that when he asked the woman to leave the theater with the toddler, she smelled of alcohol. Poor kid. :(

Then, yesterday N and I went to Jason's Deli for lunch. This place is DELICIOUS!!!!!! We ordered our food, got our drinks, and sat down in the booth. Behind me was a Father with two daughters. He was SCREAMING at one of the daughters, telling her how he was going to disown her, how she wasn't welcomed in his home(s) any more, how he doesn't love her anymore and how he can't seem to trust her anymore. She apparently had stolen some jewelry from his ex-wife and pawned it at a local pawn shop.

I don't care what your daughter did, Jason's Deli is not the appropriate venue for you to be having the conversation you're having, and making her cry.

I hope that parents that read this, understand that I realize that crap happens.... and you have to deal with it at an inconvenient time. However, I believe that you need to remain composed enough and stay rational in your thinking to realize who could be listening to your conversation and who could be effected by what you're saying to your child.
